The Boston Globe ran a front page story recently about the local real estate market, which has plenty of eager buyers, but few sellers. According to the Globe article, the supply of homes for sale in Massachusetts is at an 8 year low, and "the result is the demand for homes far outstrips the meager supply." They point out the contrast between now, with a multitude of buyers, and the immediate aftermath of the subprime crisis, when buyers were nowhere to be found. The net result at the moment is a market that is tilted in favor of home sellers.
